BAROLO & BARBARESCO WORLD OPENING Los Angeles - 2022
Join the Barolo & Barbaresco Consortium for the second World Opening Grand Tasting at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on April 29, 2022. The Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani will be hosting the two day event following the success of the inaugural NYC event in 2020. During, guests will have a unique occasion to learn more about the two iconic red wines of Piedmont and be able to feature the most recently released vintages of Barolo and Barbaresco, 2018 and 2019, respectively.
More than 150 producers will be pouring their Barolo DOCG and Barbaresco DOCG appellations, including a selection of their renowned single-vineyard wines. Thanks to the combined effort of these producers, Barolo and Barbaresco wines will be presented to the U.S. market on a scale never seen before.
Barolo & Barbaresco wines are some of the most sought after wines around the world. Often called the “king and queen” of the Langhe region where they are made, Barolo & Barbaresco are produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Age-worthy and complex, these wines have a long history of production in Piedmont and express the region’s micro-climates with great nuance.
During the event you'll be able to taste Barolo and Barbaresco wines and speak with winery representatives, from small boutique wineries to some of this region's more established producers. In addition, the event will include cheeses of Fontina Valle d’Aosta PDO, and rice of Biella and Vercelli Barraggia PDO. Over two days, participants will have the chance to take a culinary journey to Italy, tasting Barolo and Barbaresco wines paired with Fontina PDO cheeses and risotto prepared with Baraggia rice. The Barolo & Barbaresco World Opening event is part of the European campaign "Top Tales: A piece of Europe on your table," created to increase awareness of these three PDO products in the United States market.
