Vinhos Verdes Comes to Austin
Vinhos Verdes is one of Portugal’s oldest demarcated wine regions, established in 1908 and known for its vibrant diversity.
Known for its freshness, the region is now being redefined by a new generation of producers exploring lower natural alcohol wines, expressive aromatics, and a renewed focus on indigenous grape varieties.
Join us for a media and trade-only Collective Tasting featuring over 100 wines from 12 producers, offering a rare look at the region’s diversity and evolution today.
Hosted at The LINE Hotel, the event will include a walkaround tasting alongside a dedicated masterclass led by Nathan T. Prater, offering a deeper exploration of the region’s evolving identity.
The tasting brings together a curated selection of wines that highlight the contemporary identity of Vinhos Verdes — with a strong focus on native varieties such as Alvarinho, Loureiro, Avesso, Arinto, Azal, Trajadura, and Vinhão.
This is an opportunity to experience Vinhos Verdes beyond its traditional profile, and to discover a category that continues to evolve in step with today’s wine landscape.
